Understanding The Time And Season The World Is Living In: Where are we in the Book of Revelation?

7 years ago, I heard a voice which told me to read the book of Revelation and understand it chapter by chapter so that I can know and understand the time and season the world is living in.

So that I can connect human events to the pages of the revelation the great Prophet of God, Apostle John wrote.

It was during my intense period of fasting, praying, studying and meditation.

So, I tried to obey the instructions. I did try.

But I couldn't understand the symbols of the revelation of John.

So, I dropped it.

But recently, an angel came to make me understand the symbols, line upon line, precepts upon precepts.

Now, I know a part of where we are in the scheme of things;

To understand the book of Revelation,

  1. You need to understand how Prophetic visions work.
  2. You need an inner synchronization of the entire books of the bible.

Prophetic visions are usually divine realities communicated in allegories, symbols, dark sayings, poems and parables.

So, you cannot interpret them in a literal sense, if you do so, you will fail completely.

Having made this important clarification, let start out interpretation as inspired by the Spirit of God.

I will interpret  verse by verse.

- REVELATION 12:1 NKJV

[1] Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.

To understand this, you need to remember the dream of Joseph about the Stars, Sun and the moon bowing before him.

So, here is the interpretation of the main symbols in this verse:

  1. The woman here = Israel
  2. 12 stars ⭐= 12 tribes of Israel

- REVELATION 12:2 NKJV

[2] Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

Interpretation:

This speaks about the painful process and journey Israel went through to bring about the birthing of Jesus.

It's a summary of everything that happened to the Israelites right from Egypt, to the promised land, right to the time of Jesus’ pregnancy and birth.

- REVELATION 12:3 NKJV

[3] And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.

Interpretation:

The dragon here is Satan.

The writer himself acknowledged this in the subsequent verses.

Horns on a beast: Kings.

According to the book of Daniel;

Once you see a horn on a beast, it represents the number of human Kings that will rule through that Beast.

- REVELATION 12:4 NKJV

[4] His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.

Interpretation:

According to the book of Daniel 8;

Stars of heaven = Represents  the saints

The dragon standing before the woman who was about to give birth is about the events that happened during the human coming of Jesus to earth.

Israel was invaded and they were under the control of the Romans.

- REVELATION 12:5 NKJV

[5] She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.

Interpretation:

This verse is a summary of Jesus' birth and ascension into heaven, sitting on his throne in heaven at the right hand of God.

- REVELATION 12:6 NKJV

[6] Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

Interpretation:

This verse talked about the 70 AD invasion of Jerusalem which led to the Jews and believers among them running away from Israel and settling down in different parts of the world like Europe, Africa, and some parts of Asia etc.

Jesus prophesied about this invasion ahead and told the disciples to leave.

Let me add verses 13-17 to it.

The unction for those ones too has come.

REVELATION 12:13-17 NKJV

[13] Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

[14] But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

[15] So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.

[16] But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

[17] And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Interpretation:

These verses are about the persecution which was to come upon Israel and her offspring right from 70 AD.

It has started already.

The offspring here = Believers who believe in Jesus Christ and follow him from different parts of the world.

This includes you and I.

The emphasis of the messenger who interpreted this to me was on;

  1. The woman = The nation of Israel/Jewish people
  2. Her son = Jesus
  3. Her offspring= The believers in Christ Jesus.

This chapter 12 is about the persecution and attacks which the physical nation of Israel, that is the Jewish people, and the believers in Christ (You and I) will face as at the time Prophet John wrote that revelation.

Right now we are living in the content of this revelation.

It started unfolding in the year 70 AD invasion of Jerusalem.

Ever since then, we have been living in this chapter.

So far, this is where the messenger stopped in his interpretation to me.

I think this personality brought this interpretation to me because of the recent events happening with the nation of Israel.

The Lord doesn't want us to be ignorant of the time and season we are living in

Very soon, the world will move to the chapter 13 of the book of Revelation.

We are almost there.

IN ADDITION;

Some people have erroneously interpreted the woman in that chapter to mean the “Church”

That is not true.

It's very far from the true intent of that revelation.

The revelation made us understand that it's the woman who gave birth to this special son who was caught up to God's throne.

So, how can that be the church?

Was it the church that gave birth to Jesus Christ?

Or rather Jesus himself laid the foundation of the church through the 12 Apostles?

The woman was expressly referred to as the mother of this special son.

That is the nation of Israel not the church.

The church part was covered in the last verses where he talked about those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

That is the church part in that chapter.

> Meditate more on it, that it might expand in your heart and your soul will be giving more understanding on this matter of the Kingdom.

Oh,

Blessed be the name of the Lord who has enlightened my soul with his wisdom.

Blessed be the great one who has shown me mercy and caused me to know that which he desires me to know.

Blessed be the one who gave me the ability to teach and communicate that which he has shown unto me.

May your name be praised forever among men.

Amen.
